Joining Pigeon Pathways means you are helping to secure the future of our sport. Your membership fee and any donations are used to help promote the sport to the public and help newcomers on their journey to becoming masters of pigeon racing! Pigeon Pathways is a new organisation and has so far relied solely on volunteers and grants to launch. By joining as a member not only will you help fund the promotional and educational activities of our organisation, but you will have access to a newsletter each quarter that details our progress in our quest to help the fancy. As a member you can also help shape the future direction of the organisation and help define our goals. In the UK pigeon racing has been in decline for decades, whilst in other countries the sport is growing. Pigeon Pathways will attempt to reverse that decline and with you onboard we have more chance of succeeding. So join today to help secure the future of your pigeon racing sport.

Where does the money go?

Pigeon Pathways Branding and Website Build

We secured a grant from the Welsh Government to build a website and create the branding for Pigeon Pathways that would be eye catching and engaging. The website has been in development for a number of months and will continue to grow, with useful resources and information in the coming years.

Pigeon Pathways Display Gazebo

As part of our mission to reach more people and to share our sport with others we received a grant to purchase a bespoke, branded gazebo in order for us to increase our visibility and professional perception at public events. The Gazebo will allow us and volunteers to engage with people who want to find out more about our sport, culture and history in person.

What’s next?

Pigeon Pathways Roadshow (underway)

As part of our mission to reach new potential fanciers we are aiming to embark on a series of displays at country shows throughout the country. In order to maximise our chances of success we are planning to source a display loft so people can see what a real loft looks like. We will have pigeon paraphernalia for people to see, touch and learn about. We will also commission leaflets and a brochure that we can distribute during events.

Promote Your Club Resources (underway)

We often complain about the demise of our local clubs, but most of us do very little to promote the clubs because of a predetermined fear that nobody will be interested in an old sport such as pigeon racing. To help combat this we have created a number of resources to help promote your club. There is a downloadable poster that you can print and fill in then put up in your local shop, pub, barbers and post office. There’s also a video you can post in your community facebook groups and we’ll soon have downloadable ads that you can email to your community papers to reach those that are not online.

Pigeon Pathways Online Magazine (underway)

Once we’ve got the public’s interest we can help them on their journey by creating and sending them a useful magazine with information, tips and useful articles on how to succeed in their pigeon racing journey. The magazine is written and created by experienced volunteers and will be a useful source of knowledge for any new flier!
